  • 1.  Expand DD Lecl to bigger than 32Kb

    To keep up with modern software development the need for larger records are necessary.  it would be nice we could have something bigger than 32Kb.

    I would do fixed block and would like to avoid using spanned.  I have the same issue with 32Kb limit in CICS for VSAM but IBM will not fix that either.  They like to keep z/OS in the stone ages.

    When you are in the area of modern development why not go for a USS file? That also relieves you from thinking cylinders, tracks and block-sizes.

    Because we write code that has to run on z/OS and z/VSE.  VSE does not have USS files.
