Since we upgraded version of Rational Cobol runtime, we are facing abend S30A in some EGL batch programs.

 +IDI0002I Module ELARPRTM, CSECT ELASSCOM, offset X'1EC': Abend S30A-X'14'     

Any Idea ?

What is your current RBD runtime version (PTF) and what was the version you upgraded from?

What version of RBD generator are you using?

What version of z/OS?

Consider opening a ticket with RBD support.

We are on z/OS 2.5
We are using RBD 8.5 and we want to migrate to RBD 9.7

Not sure about the Current RSU level of the rational cobol  runtime , we don't see the info in our repository system.

And we upgraded to the RSU2009 for the IBM Rational COBOL Runtime V6.0.1.

I understand that:

• You did not upgrade RBD generator  from 8.5 yet
• You upgraded z/OS to RSU2009.  (what was it before)
• You did not upgrade the Rational Cobol Runtime 
• After RSU2009 upgrade, your existing RBD application program started getting the 30A abend in ELASSCOM

Is this correct?

If so, we will like to know what PTF level the Rational Cobol Runtime is running at. Please request your Systems Programmer and refer to

If it looks like that the problem is due to some inconsistency introduced by RSU2009, we will need to have a ticket opened for detailed analysis.

We have created a case : TS015639244 

we upgraded IDE  , on one laptop only to perform tests.
But we didn't generate or recompile programs.
