  • 1.  Db2 Utilities Suite V12 onwards - is it still discoverable?

Db2 Utilities Suite is missing from Product Audit Trail reports.

Versions 9, 10 and 11 are discovered.   Version 12 (5770-AF4) isn't discovered.   I remember that some products that were originally separate from Db2 are now bundled in and are deliberately excluded from discovery.  Is that the case with Db2 Utilities Suite?  I can't find any evidence of it being bundled - it has a separate PID and it's a royalty product so doesn't seem likely to be given away free.   Are my customers using a really old GKB or is this a known 'thing'?

    Thanks

    Hi Matt,

Yes Db2 Utilities Suite is in the GKB. It is only a single load module and as I have found it seems to change quite a lot when maint is applied. If you are looking at the Asset Report Product Inventory and it's not there I would suggest looking at the Discovery Report Discovered Product Inventory and more than likely it will have a version of UNKNOWN. That means it will not be copied to the Asset tables. Do you know what level of the GKB they are running? The October GKB is the current level and next week The November GKB will be released. I assume they are aware that 8.2/3 GKBs are now PTF's order-able from ShopZ. It's a good idea to subscribe to the IBM Notification service for IZSAM so any PTFs for the product released they will be notified.

    Regards

Thanks Jim - This makes sense.   They're back level on everything - GKB, maintenance versions.   I've offered them some HCL expertise to get them back to where they should be.  If they take up the offer, I'll set something up with either yourself or the guys in Perth I met at GSE the other week.

    Cheers

    Matt
