    Hi,

we tried to create a new encrypted tablespace in DB2 (v12 500) by using a special dataclass in SMS which allocates new linear VSAM datasets as encrypted ... trying to do this we receive in DB2 an IEC161I-122 message ... the explanation says

Redefine the data set without the encryption KEYLABEL or modify the application to tolerate an encrypted data set.

We think DB2 accessor id should have access to according CSFKEYS ressource (read) permit ... but this did not help.

We have currently no clue how to solve this issue, please advise!

    Best regards,

    Olaf

    Hi Olaf,

I'm reaching out to the DB2 team for their thoughts. I will reply back when I hear from them.

    Hi Olaf,

I was able to reach Jim Pickel from the Db2 team. He's wondering if you are missing pre-requisite PTFs... https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEPEK_11.0.0/seca/src/tpc/db2z_dfsmsencryptionsupport.html

P.S. If you have the PTFs but are still seeing errors, definitely let us know.

    Hi Eysha,
shame on me (or our DB2 maintainers :) ... we have reached in the meantime our DB2 system people, and they did agree that one pre-requisiste PTF is missing.
Many thanks for your quick and right help!
