New video available: Automated Resolution with AIOps on IBM zSystems

I am excited to share that we have published the next video in our video series about AIOps on IBM zSystems.

In this video we highlight how IBM’s integrated Z AIOps portfolio can help you apply intelligent and self-correcting automation through the use of full-stack monitoring, cross-domain analytics metrics and trace analysis, chat-based collaboration and policy-based system automation.

In the video we look at a scenario where a banking application depends on a transaction system. Both running on z/OS. How do you ensure that these applications are kept highly available and that the application dependencies are automatically ensured? How can you detect potential CPU bottlenecks early and help the team with problem analysis and resolution? How can you automatically resolve issues through pro-active automation?

We use several products and tools from our IBM Z AIOps portfolio to address these challenges and demo in the video how they play together.

To monitor the z/OS system and the applications running on it we use IBM Z OMEGAMON Monitor for z/OS. OMEGAMONs support all subsystems and enable full-stack monitoring for IBM Z.

IBM Z System Automation is used to provide policy based high-availability and automated operations for the applications on our z/OS system.

The OMEGAMON products as well as System Automation integrate with IBM Service Management Unite which provides a single UI to aggregate monitored insights enabling users to drill down and perform cross-domain analytics, metrics and trace analysis.

On top of that we have our collaboration solution, IBM Z ChatOps, which helps surface insights in chat and connect disparate team members to orchestrate the problem resolution workflow, improve the time to resolve the problem and facilitate team collaboration.

In the video we demo how OMEGAMON discovers a high CPU situation with our banking application. The operations team is notified through ChatOps. Z ChatOps and Service Management Unite, which provides web-based problem isolation dashboards, enable the team to quickly drill down and isolate the problem and collaborate remotely. Lastly we demonstrate how through integrations with System Automation we can apply intelligent automation to automate problem resolution in the future.

So, I hope you are now eager to see the video and check out how these solutions work together to deliver an integrated and accelerated workflow experience:
