Globally and annually, trillions of dollars are ineffectively spent on healthcare and trillions of life data points are ineffectively connected to insights about our health.
We spend less than 1% of our time in a “medical” setting and hope the medical data generated there will lead to enhanced outcomes. Medical settings offer access to tremendous medical experience and clinically validated diagnostics; however, their utility will always be fundamentally limited given the typical consumer only spends 1% of their total time in an actual medical setting.
The “life” setting provides access to something the medical setting does not — that other 99% of time. It is during this massive observation window in time where the signs of developing diseases may be expressed, but go undetected, allowing the sensors in our common smart devices to address both clinical and economic gaps in the health continuum, via more “effective” (frequent, objective, quantitative) and “scalable” (accessible, affordable, convenient) consumer health solutions – when innovatively enabled.

Digital Transformation
IBM’s Hyper Protect program enables BioTrillion to store our client data securely and scalably on a Hyper Protect DBaaS service that is setup with a MongoDB instance. We are currently integrating the Hyper Protect SDK and MBaaS systems via the Apple CareKit data store for our iOS app. In addition to access to these services, the program gave us technical mentorship through internal contacts who guided us in embedding the Hyper Protect services into our platform. Our feedback into IBM’s cloud systems is getting directly embedded into future iterations of the platform, allowing us, and other users, to scale our platform, securely.
