Why use IMS Fast Path?
Use IMS Fast Path to improve performance for simple transactions. When you have a high transaction volume with rapid database updates and inquiries, the Fast Path facilities offer several advantages over full-function DL/I processing.

This is an advanced, comprehensive, self-paced course for IMS system administrators, database administrators, application designers, and application programmers who design or implement IMS Fast Path applications in an IMS Transaction Management (TM) or IMS Database (DBCTL) environment.

Prerequisites
You should have practical experience with IMS and z/OS systems. Before taking this course, you should have completed IMS Fundamentals or have equivalent working knowledge of IMS.

- Describe the processing of Fast Path resources in the IMS TM and DBCTL environment
- Design and implement an Expedited Message Handler (EMH) environment and understand the benefits of shared EMH
