IBM Z Operations Analytics, an application that provides actionable insights into the health of IT operations environments, is now available on IBM Z Trial. You can now take a quick, hands-on look at some of the capabilities that IBM Z Operations Analytics has to offer.
The IBM Z Operations Analytics trial on IBM Z Trial is an environment with IBM Z Operations Analytics, Z Common Data Provider, and the Elastic Stack® preinstalled and set up along with a set of integrated, easy-to-follow tutorials. This trial takes less than 2 hours and requires no set up by you—simply request an instance of the trial through Z Trial. You will have access to this system for 3 days.

Explore the application first
In the IBM Z Operations Analytics Z trial, you will have the ability to set up a Z Common Data Provider policy to enable IBM Z Operations Analytics to receive data and view it in IBM Z Operations Analytics dashboards in Kibana® in the Elastic Stack. While this trial leverages Kibana and the Elastic Stack, the same scenarios could be performed in other supported platforms, like Splunk®.
This trial offers a set of scenarios with instructions that explain how to complete the following tasks:
- Create a Common Data Provider Policy.
- Troubleshoot problems with a newly developed CICS application.
- Perform a security audit.
Each scenario takes about 20-30 minutes.
This trial is only a brief glimpse into the capabilities of IBM Z Operations Analytics, but with the ease of accessibility, this is an exciting release. Future improvements and enhancements of this Z Trial are expected as IBM Z Operations Analytics continues to develop through a design-driven approach. We hope to enhance IBM Z Operations Analytics and the Z Trial experience through feedback as we receive it, and already have more enhancements planned, including scenarios to demonstrate the solution's machine learning capabilities.
