IBM OMEGAMON e3270UI FFDC for connections

  

With the recently shipped APAR OA66898 PTF UJ96474 IBM OMEGAMON e3270UI there is a new function that allows end users to see if there are any connection issues when pulling data from agents and building a display.   In order to turn on this function you must first update your preferences under SQL1.  Select "Y" for Engage FFDC for SQL1 Analysis.  Save it to your profile.

Then when you run a workspace in the e3270UI that may not get all agent information back you can dive deeper:  On this zOS Overview click on the white Rows button to dive deeper:
Then the e3270UI shows all the agent SQL1 information in detail:  Here you can see RSD3 agent on RSPLEXL2 sysplex is offline and not giving data back into the collection.
This is a great tool to dive deeper into any collection issues on the e3270UI.
