FIS and IBM excel in the challenge of bringing the latest technologies to their mutual clients.  One such example is where we use Machine Learning on Z to build and deploy AI models on Systematics, aimed to improve risk assessment for customer overdrafts by developing an enhanced Overdraft (OD) Risk Score. The project involved extracting 30 data points from Systematics, feeding them into an IBM AI tool, and using a Random Forest Algorithm to generate precise risk scores. The AI-driven OD Risk Score allows banks to make better overdraft authorization decisions, reducing charge-offs while maximizing overdraft fee revenue, allowing more accurate and efficient assessment of customer risk, all through the AI-driven tool.  Another challenge in some mainframe development environments is the loss of skills and knowledge of the code base due to retirement of key personnel. In addition to the ongoing onboarding and training efforts by FIS, critical Gen AI tools like IBM Watson X Code Assistant on IBM z17 allows for new team members to analyze, document and update their existing code to the latest versions of COBOL while identifying and remediating unused and underused code sections. 

Platform Resiliency & Availability: FIS Systematics is a mission-critical application that relies on the underlying platform to be available 24x7. IBM z17 from inception, is built for resilience and availability. Today, IBM reports that the IBM z17 can achieve up to eight-nines availability, which in practical terms, translates to less than one-third of a second of downtime annually.1
