I am happy to share that a new version of IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS is available, following the 4-weekly delivery schedule for this product. The new release is available through the usual IBM channel (Fix central).
Below you will find a short summary of the most important changes that are included in IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 1.1.0.4-ZIM-2024.7.0:
- IntelliMagic Vision 1.1.0.4 provides extensive support to manage performance from the business perspective. This allows answering questions like:
o What parts of the infrastructure need attention from the business perspective?
o Are the DDF transactions that are making the CPU activity increase for an application that contributes to the bottom line?
o Is the transaction that seems to be misbehaving business critical and is this the most important thing to look into right now?
o What is the impact of application modernization on application response times and on CPU usage?
Below you will find an example showing that Claims is the line of business that has the highest dispatch wait times, and how easy it is to zoom further to find the transactions of interest. In this particular case it is only one transaction and this transaction is not at the top of the list when investigating from a transaction perspective.
- CICS captures the details of CICS transaction timings in about 100 buckets. IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS’s dynamic navigation and context-sensitive drilldowns enable users to quickly identify the handful of buckets that make significant contributions to the response time for any given transaction. Enhancements in IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 1.1.0.4 expedite that analysis even further. Below you will find two examples of new out of the box views that show key metrics for a CICS Transactions and CICS Applid’s.
- To facilitate rapid visibility into key metrics reflecting activity across large complex Db2 environments, several enhancements have been made to Db2 configuration reporting.
