IBM z/OS Provisioning Toolkit

By Destination Z posted Mon December 23, 2019 03:30 PM

Not all of us have the z/OS specific administration skills necessary to handle advanced system programming. We might know how to use a few simple command lines, but beyond that, system programming might be beyond our skill level. When it comes to more complex tasks, we hand it off to others to do the work for us.

Now there’s something that allows us to perform all of these tasks ourselves. The IBM z/OS Provisioning Toolkit allows system programmers without any z/OS specific administration skills to preconfigure environments, control developer access and set appropriate provisioning limits. It also uses a simple command line interface for rapid provisioning of z/OS development environments. All of this gives developers flexibility to easily build, run and share application images.

The toolkit allows you to build images that match production environments, run an image using a single command to create a container and manage the containers that are provisioned.

Get Started

The IBM z/OS Provisioning Toolkit is available to all z/OS V2.1 and above clients at no charge. It can be downloaded direct from IBM. Once you download and install the toolkit, you can configure it by following the directions in the IBM Knowledge Center.

The toolkit is no charge and easy to get started. Begin leveraging all features today.
