As an IBM Z Mainframe long term and loyal customer, CMB continuously try and adopt the new features provided by IBM Mainframe. In the past years, we think z/OS Management Facility(z/OSMF) greatly satisfied our expectation of the opening and modernization of IBM Mainframe.
z/OSMF is a web based z/OS management tool. Besides a lot of useful GUI z/OS management plugins, it also provides a wide variety of REST APIs to help the applications on the open platform to consume the services provided by Mainframe.
Now CMB is developing modern data center with digital operation capabilities. z/OSMF provides a good approach to package the traditional IBM Z Mainframe operation and maintenance ability into a series of REST APIs. z/OSMF helped CMB to easily integrate the Mainframe maintenance into several important platforms in the data center like automation platform, monitoring platform and configuration management platform. z/OSMF demonstrated the advantages of centralized architecture of IBM Mainframe while open platform and distributed technologies were developing very fast nowadays. We hope IBM can continuously invest and develop z/OSMF related technologies to change the traditional impression of IBM Z Mainframe and help IBM Z Mainframe to play an important role in the data centers of China banks in the future.
