User Story- How IBM’s CIO Office Has Brought Automation Into Their Storage Hardware

3:45 PM with Christina LaRow & Rafael Lima

When it comes to hardware, the DS8K’s have provided reliable storage capabilities for years. But when it comes to interacting with them or extracting information about them, it requires a lot of time-consuming, manual work. What if that wasn’t necessary? What if users didn’t need to input one command after another, manually parse through the lines and lines of output, and switch to 3 different interfaces just to find out one piece of monitoring information in one DS8K? IBM’s CIO office offers their experience in creating automation around storage monitoring and allocation on the mainframe. Come listen as they talk about concrete examples of using python and yamls to save them hours of manual work each day.

Hybrid Cloud With Mainframe Governance: The Business Value of Hybrid Cloud

7:30 AM with John Hogan and Rebecca Levesque

The foundation of a successful hybrid cloud strategy is seamless integration between z/OS and the cloud while maintaining mainframe governance and controls. By enabling effortless data transfer from disk, tape, or object storage directly to the cloud, businesses can tailor their hybrid cloud environment to align with their specific needs and priorities. Come join the conversation on tailoring your hybrid cloud strategy to perfectly align with your business objectives.

Cyber Resilience for Enterprise Data - Protection From Logical Corruption *

            8:45 AM with Beth Peterson

Every month there is a new story about an attack on Enterprise Data from ransomware, malware, insider threats or other corruption/destruction of data. This is a significant concern for many large organizations and to the associated industry regulatory bodies. Traditional High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions provide no protection from this type of event. The speaker will discuss how IBM is responding to the phenomenon focusing on the concepts and solutions to protect and recover the core Enterprise Data from logical corruption. Included in the discussion will be the latest solution enhancements.

D.C. or in Other Words... DFSMS Central - Back to Basics
