    Howdy!
Just wondering what would be the adequate specs (CPU, memory, disk, etc) for a RHEL host running InformixHQ exclusively. This instance will be keeping tabs on 25 Production servers initially, and we want to save 6 to 12 months worth of metrics in the repository. Planning to install IDS 14.10.FC4.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Ramon.

    Have you seen these articles?

    https://www.oninitgroup.com/faq-items/informixhq-setup
    https://www.oninitgroup.com/faq-items/informixhq-repository

Reducing the frequency of most sensors to 5 minutes - with those saving multiple rows (such as per chunk) only hourly - we are finding the repository size averages around 100MB per instance with 30-day retention. If you will be keeping data for 12 months for 25 instances, that would be around 30GB.

It's probably best to run each agent on the IDS server it monitors, so your HQ server will have just one Java process which we limit to 512MB memory. The free IDS Innovator-C Edition should be sufficient to contain the repository. You can use the limits on that edition to scale the RHEL host resources accordingly:
