When you begin a restore using either ontape or onbar it checks to see if it will be overwriting the storage of an existing engine. If you are it looks to see if there are any logical logs theday were not backed up before the server crashed ore was shutdown. If there address any it will issue the prompt that you are seeing.

Why would you want to save those logs? In case you are restoring to fix corrupted storage and want to be able to restore the system to its state immediately before it crashed/was shutdown. Assuming the log disk was not corrupted, then that can be done.
