I wonder why ibm has this product released, before doing complete testing ?
we had dsm installed and never had problems. to stay up-to-date, we migrated to dmc, but since we had to open many cases for all problems you see in these discussions, ats, pruning table - pruning repos tables - collecting package cache , collecting diagnostics and many more. and we never get a decent answer on these..... Why they release a new product that has less functions than before : reporting has been removed...
so my customer forced me to return back to dsm, and hopefully next year, when dmc gets mature we could do a next test.
it looked good but....it is not all gold that glitters...
in this forum at least we got some answers, but when opening a case they can not reproduce, they don't......  
I remember when I worked in ibm software support center.. we always would try to debug the problem on local installations, but now a days, they just handle a check-list - flowchart ..   do you have this ? go left -- do you have this : go right... take traces that do not work...
the quality is below level....
I will still continue to use dmc on my private vm and hope we can submit problems to this forum, so hopefully we get a product in the future that is really usable..

@Guy Przytula  I am sorry about the issues you experienced during DMC usage.  We have listed the 14 cases and 5 community posts you opened and will go through them internally to do RCA.  12 of 14 cases are closed and all the community posts are replied although I understand some of case were closed because of not able to recreate.  We will continue track those cases with support team together and use these cases to continuously improve quality DMC.  My team is on the way to deliver a universal console ​to all Db2 families and extend to more data stores with brand new design, smaller footprint and a plenty of open APIs which DSM doesn't have.  We will also continuously improve the quality which is essential to users and this product.  We are also keeping catching the function gap from DSM which is much smaller along with new version released.  I want to thank you for your support on DMC and please don't hesitate to post any questions , issues, requests in the community and we will make sure to response every post you paste here.  Please also let us know if you have any concern about the support cases and I will work with support team to get them resolved.  We will have a new version of DMC released in next couple of weeks and welcome to use it!   Thanks again!

I feel your pain...   I am actually stuck to continue testing DMC.  I am facing a java OOM issue, that prevents me to keep it running on my environment..  Need to wait the next release...

Thanks @Samuel Pizarro.   Do you mean the java OOM issue @Yuan Gao worked together with you?   I think he identified the root cause and the fix is included in next release.  He also supplied workaround and please us know whether workaround works before the new release comes. Thanks!​​

Hi @HAO WU

Yes,  that same issue.   Yes,  it was fixed for next released. 

Well  the current workaround in increasing java heap size from 2G to 8GB ,  to get DMC not crashing..  sorry,  I can't do that..  too much memory waste on my system. ​​

That's why I need to wait for the next release.
