Not sure this is the correct place for this topic. I can move it if need be.
We have been looking at the runstats clean . In DB2 v12 fl 507, as part of the function level, Db2 is cleaning up the SYSIBM catalog tables and the SYSIBM.Profile_Table. I would like to discuss if possible
1. I would like to know if others have gone through this process, and have they seen performance Gains?
2. How do you determine if the Clean up of a Tables statistics is really going to help at Runtime
3. In function level 507 it is stated that the profile table runstats control is going to be cleaned up if some control cards are needed anymore, or if there are old statistics in the catalog tables that in function level 507, it will also remove old stats.
4. Is there notification when stats are cleaned up?
We have been investigating the clean up for quite a while but are gun show because you really have no way of knowing the impact if and when you do this in production
