When it comes to actual SQL statements, you usually don't need to rewrite them to switch drivers. The drivers should send the statements to the server for processing so as long as the server remains the same (i.e. Informix), you should not need to do much if any rewriting of SQL statements that I know about.
One difference you might see is if you are using any custom types (SET/LIST, user defined types, etc) as the support may very between the two drivers. Some other differences might be the format of date/time values if you request the data back in character form vs an object that you can format yourself.
