  • 1.  IDS 14.xC5 and SQL_DEF_CTRL onconfig parameter issue

    Hello,

We plan to upgrade from 12.10 to 14.10
On test servers with primary/hdr/rss configuration we got this message

(flag with value 0x400000 of the SQL_DEF_CTRL onconfig parameter).
Please ensure that this feature is also enabled on the connected
primary server, otherwise the secondary server may not behave as
expected when table minversion changes occur!

I can see that this probleme is solved on 14.10.xC5.

    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IT30689

    And we have 14.10.FC4W1

Is it really preferable to upgrade to C5 or this is only a message and this will not affect the servers behavior ?

    Thanks a lot.

That message really only was meant as a general warning type alert to the dba, disregarding real circumstances.  You can well live with it once you're sure it is taken care of (and settings do agree on all sides).  It's a bit unfortunate as it refers to a config parameter that, on purpose, isn't even documented.
All the cited APAR is doing is suppressing the message, so not an important reason to get this fix - but there are plenty of others why you'd want to keep your fixpacks current ;-)
