I don't think there is an official support statement about Oracle Linux from IBM. For what it's worth - I run one of the infrastructure support nodes using 12.10.FC5 on Oracle Linux 7.4 and did not see any issues in several years.

Only because it's officially supported or due to some unique features?
Asking because personally I prefer SLES / openSUSE mostly since it offers (in my opinion) fastest way to get into rescue mode which even allows network access with ssh and usually releases have newer kernels compared to RH. I know that other daring folks (and nVidia) like Ubuntu, don't really know why (less restrictive license?), Linux is Linux after all, what's missing can be built from source.
I expect Informix to run on any Linux with kernel version matching or newer compared to minimal supported environment (currently RH 7.4 / 3.10.0-693.el7 for 14.10), only complication may be the need for compatibility packages with lower version of curses and ssl libraries. Back in the days I even ran Informix on Yellow Dog Linux on PS3 before SONY disabled Linux completely.
Let me know if it's not true for any Linux flavor.
