Hi community,
If you don't like Tableau or not interested in Tableau, you can skip this one
My customer is a big fan of Tableau and does really cool things with (yes, Tableau is a masterpiece for BI).
As some of you may know, the IFMX Tableau driver is not an official one but above all it has some issues (namedly with how Tableau handles dates...)
My customer ( I.e his industry production Engineering team) is now a Tableau addict but the issues they are hitting stops them from using IFMX as a data source,
their only solution being to purchase SQL Server (yuck!!!!) licenses.
- We know that Lab is working on an official IFMX tableau driver, but it is not in today's priorities
- We had an (crazy maybe?) idea: why not using the MongoDB part of IDS and work directly with the Tableau / MongoDB driver ?
- Customer has now some practice on IFMX/Mongo functionality in his developments (and loves it!)
Before starting any testing, did any of you try such a scenario of setting the MongoDB listener and access to IFMX data thru the Tableau/MongoDB driver?
Any lessons learned ?
Thanks bunches
Eric
