We are currently on 12.10 (Enterprise) but will upgrade to 14.10 in the future (maybe around xC5 release).

The compression feature was a extra-cost option in 12.xx but is included in 14.xx. So the question arises:
Would it be ok (in terms of licence agreement etc.) to start using this feature in 12.10?

    Best regards,

When you mention xC5, would it be because you consider that as a minimum fixpack level for acceptable stability?

If yes, I totally disagree... But that would be a side discussion.

You have to obey the license of the version you use. That means you cannot use a feature made available on version N+1 in version N.
I understand that morally it doesn't sound bad (you bought the software and pay support...) but as I understand it, it would be a license violation :(

    Regards.

    Thanks Fernando for clarifying this.

As for the fixpack level, usually we have had some problems in the past when jumping to a low ( < 5 )  level in a new version. (Even from 11.50 to 11.70.) But maybe we will move faster now to utilize this feature.

    Best regards.
