In our environment we are now using Netcool / Bluecare monitoring functions for db2. But for a long time the only way to continuously monitor linux / aix servers - and databases was bash scripts in crontab. Maybe it can be useful in some cases. Sorry for the comments in Italian. I think the whole script is very intuitive and you can modify it for your necessity
(rename .txt to .sh)
