I have seen IBM is shifting from certification program to badge program which is completely different.
    no time-limit - at home..
the question : is the value of this badge the same as certification, as while doing the test, you can lookup all answers ?
will there be badges for Db2 Luw and when ? where to find info about this ?
I was certified since Db2 V6 upto 11.1 for DBA and advanced dbA

    Hi Guy,

the tests are the same for badges as for certifications. I did my certifications for db2 luw on the IDUG EMEA last year and recieved the badges directly after passing the tests.

After Db2 10.5 there is no "advanced" Admin certification. there is only the admin role.

Infos about the badges around Db2 you can find here

    thanks for the update
for db2 luw there are no badge test yet. the certification of Db2 Luw 11.5 DBA was last test
the badge tests do not have the same value, as it can be done at home and there is no time limit.
I have all certificates from V6 to V11 for dba and adv dba. I wonder what will be the next test
there is no certification course at idug anymore..

Although not an IBM'er, I am an IBM Champion and have a little detail around this that I can share.

During the DB2 LUW Panel at IDUG NA, there was a lot of discussion about the value of certifications vs. badges and lack of on-site testing at IDUG. You could get a voucher for a free test, but the on-site testing wasn't there.

I know that IBM is internally reviewing how it is handling badges/certifications and is pivoting on what they will do and how they will prep for them. However, I would expect it to be at least 90 days before we hear anything official (and that is just a personal guess).

I know it was suggested that badges be used to show a speciality or deep knowledge in one area (i.e. HADR) and to keep certifications because they are needed in general (i.e. job hunting to show competency). But I don't know what IBM is doing yet.
