Prerequisites and Maintenance for IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS, V7

Db2 Analytics Accelerator V7.5.2 provides the following main enhancements and improvements:

  • Integrated Synchronization enhancements
    • Disable query acceleration automatically for suspended tables
    • Execute ALTER TABLE DATA CAPTURE CHANGES in Db2 for z/OS as part of the table enablement step via stored procedure ACCEL_SET_TABLES_REPLICATION, Data Studio or Data Server Manager
  • Distribution and organizing keys can now be changed for archived tables (Technical preview)
  • Db2 Analytics Accelerator as replication target for IBM Change Data Capture (CDC) replication (Technical preview)
    • Using IBM CDC you can now replicate data from any supported source system (for example IMS, VSAM, Oracle or MS SQL Server) directly to Db2 Analytics Accelerator without the need to have this data in Db2 for z/OS first.
  • Query performance and stability improvements
  • Additional "Built-in Function Passthrough" for additional statistical SQL functions to be used in Db2 for z/OS applications
  • Platform stability improvements
  • Improvements specific to Accelerator on IBM Z
    • Support for FCP/SCSI boot disks. In addition to data pools, boot disks can now be FCP/SCSI disks as well (for both, single and multi-node deployments)
    • The disk space used for synopsis tables has been reduced by reducing the tablespace extent size.
    • New admininistration user interface layout with consolidated data node log messages for multi-node deployments
      • Network test option to diagnose connection problems
