Why does a stage calculation sit as 'pending' for a while after a development calculation has finished?  What is it waiting for?

    When a development calculation has finished, stage takes a while to get going.  Why is that?

    I've noticed the same Sasha but on all calculations, normally they're pending for a long period of time before it states finished or begins calculating.

    I think the staging calculations are deeper and staging calculate more data, so therefore it takes longer time.

    The staging calculation is a pre-warm of all the reports so that when a user goes into Staging the report is snappier and loads quicker than when In Development. 

     

    The In Development is a real time environment where it's not pre-calculating the drills in the model, reporting, metrics, etc.  

     

    This also allows for quicker push to Production than was in R11.
