we have upgraded the DB2 ( DB2 10.1 to DB2 11.5 ) so that we could upgrade the ILMT / now we need to register DB2 ?

    those steps are complete

    Now we need to register or activate the new version of DB2

    we solved it !!!!!

    the key to my issue was to find the actual downloadable file, thru IBM passport advantage, that would give me the " activation license file " so that we could properly activate the IBM DB2 that ILMT needs.

    I found the file thru ibm passport advantage.

    well it took a few days but i think i got it

    - a few IBM support tickets to grant us access to use IBM support site

    - a few ibm support tickets for help with IBM db2 license activation and downloads

    buried in this link is a file - out of about 30 files , that actually has a license file that looks to be applicable

    IBM Db2 Enterprise Server Edition PVU Option Activation V11.5.4 for Linux UNIX and Windows Multilingual (CC6L2ML)

    find the ACTUAL license file, get it on the server and run -- bigfix66:/opt/ibm/db2/V11.5 > db2licm -a /home/db2inst1/possible_V11.5_license/lic00000005.lic
