  • 1.  add new custom language to Maximo Manage

    Posted Wed August 30, 2023 05:02 AM

    Hi all,
I know maximo supports a list of languages, which I can configure during the installation process or add later viathe suite admin GUI.
But, I have the requirement to add a language that is, out of the box, not supported.
We will not translate the whole Manage, but the few applications used by the users that don't speak one of the supported languages.

Has anybody already added a new language to Manage?

    Best regards

    Hi Dirk,

It seems that you can do it manually as in 7.6. You need to prepare all the XML Localization Interchange File Format (XLIFF) files required to deploy the new languages. Each language is represented by two characters that identify the archive folders by language.

For example, Simplified Chinese is identified by "zh." The XLIFF files are placed in the directory \ibm\smp\maximo\tools\maximo\zh\xliff.

And the command "TDToolkit -addlangZH" allows you to import the ZH language.

    Best regards,

    Hi Dirk,

Please find the links to the support page on what Hanbali suggested:

Adding an additional language to Maximo 7.6 (ibm.com)

Adding unsupported second languages to databases (ibm.com)
