    Hi team,

    my customer has two different divisions who will develop mappings with ITX 10 and have to support them afterwards.

    Now the customer wants to ensure that every division can only deploy, start, stop and monitor the interfaces they have developed.

    The only change to do so I can think of is to run two instances of the lauchner with separate users.
    So I have searched for a description how to install multiple instances of websphere transformation extender launcher.

    But the only thing I could fine is how deploy under UNIX (How to install multiple instances of WebSphere Transformation Extender on a UNIX platform).
    Isn't it possible to install more than one instance of the launcher under Windows Server 2016, too?

    Or is there any other option to support the needs of my customer?

    You can only have one installation of a version of ITX on the Windows platform.

    You can set the instance to NOT run all MSLs as a single Launcher (CompoundSystem) and instead have multiple Launchers defined, which can be controlled individually.

    Hi Paul,

    thanks for your answer.

    I know your Youtube-Tutorial about running the launcher in Multi-process Mode.

    As mentioned the customer has two divisions which both want to deploy systems on a launcher. So he can run the launcher in multi-process mode and deploy the systems of divison1 on launcher instance 1 and systems of divison2 on launcher instance 2. In launcher administration two users can be created. But I found no option to restrict the access of user1 to (systems on) launcher instance 1 and the access of user2 to (systems on) launcher instance 2. I can only give both users access to "All Systems".

    Maybe there is a way to do, but I don't know.

    But even if this would be possible every user would be able to deploy systems on every instance, still.

    So maybe only change for the customer is to move to UNIX and run two launchers in parallel. Correct?

    A Linux migration would give you greater flexibility, true.

    It might be possible to restrict users with Windows built-in security mechanisms.  Create a share pointing to C:\IBM\TransformationExtender_10.1.1\Systems1 called Systems1, and only grant Windows permissions for users of Division 1 to see it.  Then create a share pointing to C:\IBM\TransformationExtender_10.1.1\Systems2 called Systems2, and only grant Windows permissions for users of Division 2 to see it.

    A 'service account' would need to be created that could read both Systems directories, and run the Windows service.

    Administration of this would be a bit of a nightmare, but not impossible.
