IBM V5010 management port1 fail on node1 only

  • 1.  IBM V5010 management port1 fail on node1 only

    Hi all,

       I have issue about IBM V5010  Firmware  7.8.x  mangement port1 on node1(fail only one port), It can change use confiugre use on port2 on node1 and node2?  If it can use.  Please help provide the instruction for solve this issue, Thank you very much.

    Hi Apidesh, 

    ethernet port2 can be configured as secondary management port, either via GUI or CLI:

    chsystemip -clusterip <IPaddress> -gw <GWipaddress> -mask <network_mask> -port 2

    More details on this in IBM Docs article "chsystemip".

    If you want to reuse the management IP address previously assigned to port1, change the port1 IP first.

    Note, that the cluster management IP address consequently applies to either node, which ever is config node presently.

    Also, I assume that the config node presently is the one with no problem for ethernet port1.
