Hello. My employer has an old Storwize v3700 (2072-24C) with two expansion enclosures that have different model numbers; 2072-24E and 6099-24E. While all three enclosures are IBM branded, I've been told they were purchased when IBM was transitioning them to Lenovo.

So, if I wanted to upgrade the firmware, which is currently version 7.8.1.2, would I need to get it from IBM or Lenovo?

I believe 7.8.1.16 is the latest available version, which is also available in IBM Fix Central. Last time I updated firmware in V3700 using files downloaded from IBM Fix Central.

Hello John,

the code for V3700 GEN1 machines (6099 and 2072) is the same for IBM and IBM OEMed machines (Lenovo). There is no different.  So it does not matter.
