I am looking for some MQ and CICS courses. Can anyone recommend a good supplier?

    Regards - Grant.

    Hiya Grant,

Couple of clarifying questions. Are you looking for some MQ courses and for some CICS courses, or are you looking for some courses that cover MQ and CICS together?

Are you looking for online or classroom based courses?

    Cheers

    Morag

    Hi Morag,
Separate CICS and MQ courses are what I am looking for. I would prefer classroom, but would consider online as well.

    Grant,

I have just seen this and I am guessing that you have moved on since March. But adding my 2p-worth to Morag's comments, I would ask a bit more about your aims. Do you want sufficient info so - for example - you can install MQ in a CICS env - or do you want to be able to write CICS-MQ transactions ? Etc.

I assume you are willing to pay for the education since putting together an education course of any kind costs a lot of time, effort and money.

I am not certain of your work status but there are some excellent self-study courses available through IBM PartnerWorld but you need to be working for an IBM Business Partner to gain access.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

    Thanks for the responses.

I am hoping to get info regarding MQ V8(or later), specifically (but not necessarilly limited to) Clustering & Pub/Sub, from a SysProg perspective. These are areas I have not had to deal with in my career before and am finding i need to become more familiar with them.

Yes - I am assured that there is budget for this :D

    Regards - Grant.

Hello Grant.  There are a number of courses available for MQ v8 (and CICS v5).  The following links will take you to training roadmaps where you can click on each course to see the course descriptions as well as find and enroll in classes being offered by IBM Global Training Providers in your area.  Hope this helps.
