  • 1.  Question about DB2 script - ICN 3.0.8

    Posted Wed July 22, 2020 03:33 PM

    Hi all,

I installed the ICN 3.0.8 version in my linux server and my application server is WAS 9.0.5 version.

I was able to complete all the steps of the ICN configuration and now I am able to access ICN through my browser. But I have a question regarding the DB2_STATEMENTS.sql script.

During the installation process I only executed these two scripts: DB2_ONE_SCRIPT.sql and DB2_UPGRADE_SCRIPT.sql.

But I saw that there is a script called DB2_STATEMENTS.sql and I don't know if I should run it, I'm not able to find information about that script and I don't know what this script is for.

Apparently my ICN is working well, but I am afraid that something will not work in the future because of this script that I did not execute.

Could anyone tell me if this script is important and should be executed? And what is this script for?

    Thank you !!

    Hi,

Did you do a fresh install or upgrade install? And did you encounter any errors or issues when running the DB scripts using ICN configuration tool? Because most of the cases, user will not need to run these scripts by themselves unless ICN configuration tool fails to run them.

And for a fresh install, only running DB2_ONE_SCRIPT.sql is enough. For a upgrade install, running DB2_UPGRADE_SCRIPT.sql is enough. You don't need to run DB2_STATEMENTS.sql script since it will be used by ICN Sync service at runtime.

And I don't think we have documents about this since as I said, we assume the end user will not touch these scripts by themselves.

    Hope this can help you.

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

I did a fresh install, and at least for now we will not be using the sync service. So I will not run the DB2_STATEMENTS.sql script.

I had no problem when I ran DB2_ONE_SCRIPT.sql, everything worked perfectly.

Thank you very much for your attention and for answering me!
