  • 1.  Cognos 11.1.5 & Jupyter Notebook

    We are considering Cognos 11.1.5 since it supports Jupyter Notebook Server on Windows.  However I'm realizing it is only supported on Windows 10!! (not the best choice for a production server application)

    Can anyone confirm that it is only available on Windows 10? have anyone tried it?

    It is. but not a piece of documentation from IBM will actually make it work, and no else does either.  Guess it just the typical IBM we have added this brand new feature, but don't use it because it will not work.

    Hi Richard,

    Thank you for this question. The Cognos Jupyter Server is not supported yet on Windows server primarily due to issues with Docker and Windows. Jupyter Hub that is used for spawning and shutting down notebook containers is best supported in Linux today. As such the easiest and problem-free way to install the Jupyter seever is on Linux, CentOS or RHEL.

    This is a gap our dev team is actively looking on closing.
