    Hello,
    We are still using IBM Cognos TM1 10.2 for some models with integrated security 5 for autentication.
    We are about to shut down IBM Cognos BI server due to obsolescence and we need to switch security from IntegratedSecurity 5 to 1.
    We have some TM1 Applications running in the same TM1 server.
    We can change integrated security into the TM1 models from 5 to 1 with ease.

    Question is: how do we restore the settings into the IBM TM1 Applications (pmpsvc) to stop using IBM Cognos BI security and take it back to IBM TM1 native security?

    Any advice will be very much appreciated.

    TM1 Applications does not support easily changing the security mode.  I believe you can do something like this:

    1 - Export any deployed applications (there is an export option on the page that lists the deployed applications) and follow theses steps to 'reset' TM1 Applications.
    2 - Stop the IBM Cognos TM1 Applications service
    3 - Delete your ..\tm1_64\tomcat\work\catalina\localhost\pmpsvc directory
    4 - Edit the ..\tm1_64\webapps\pmpsvc\WEB-INF\configuration\fpmsvc_config.xml file. Delete all content between (but not including) the <tm1> and </tm1> xml tags and save the file.
    ***If the fpmsvc_config.xml.new file exists, you can also backup/replace the existing fpmsvc_config.xml file with this one.
    5 - Start the IBM Cognos TM1 Applications service
    6 - Browse back to the TM1 Applications web portal and complete the initialization page (select a TM1 server that has been configured with IntegratedSecurityMode=1).
    7 - Import the previously exported application.  There is an option to include security in the import, make sure that option is unchecked.

    Highly recommend testing the above steps in a non-production environment first!!!

    Note that the above action will clear the data state of the application.  Any data that has not been committed (appears blue in the web UI) is effectively abandoned in the model.  Keep in mind that the sandbox feature that is used by TM1 Applications is specific to each user.  The new native TM1 users will not be the same as the old CAM users and will not have the same sandbox.  You will also need to create new native groups to use for assigning application rights.

    I will also provide the standard disclaimer that you should be looking at IBM Planning Analytics and Cognos Analytics as a upgrade path.  TM1 Applications is still supported in current versions of IBM Planning Analytics.  Although we would like to bring some (not all) of the functionality from TM1 Applications into Workspace.

    We will ​be migrating our models from IBM TM1 into Planning Analytics eventually, but for the time being we will still be using TM1.
    I am going to try your suggestions and will post here the outcome.
