  • 1.  WAS 6.1 ND -> WAS7 ND and EDGE

    Posted Tue February 01, 2011 03:53 AM

    Hi,

    We are talking about migrating WAS 6.1 ND to WAS 7 ND in my company.
    We are also using the EDGE components to loadbalance our traffic.

    What I have heard is that the NAT (installed in kernel space) is deprecated in WAS7 and that is the component we use.

    My question is, if we still can migrate to WAS7 and run the old EDGE6?
    If its possible, do we still have full support?
    Someone having this experience?

    Hi -

    here are some links that might be useful:

    publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinf...

    and

    www-01.ibm.com/software/webservers/appse...

    from what I can read, it does not seem that these have been deprecated.

    Hmm,

    Yeah, you seem to be right... There is some NAT example mentioned.
    I think I will have to talk to my IBM contacts again.
    They was telling me NAT kernel component was removed in WAS7.

    Thank you for the input!
