Mainframe customers are increasingly using WebSphere Liberty, both as a runtime for products such as z/OS Connect, and for applications migrated from WebSphere traditional (tWAS).Liberty has a simpler architecture than tWAS, and although it can record SMF data it uses a different SMF 120 subtype and captures slightly different metrics.
