Abstract:
Db2 Agentic AI Service is an enterprise-grade, multi-agent AI system that enables
autonomous management of IBM Db2 databases through natural language interaction.
The system employs specialized AI agents that collaborate to handle complex database
operations, from performance diagnostics to automated troubleshooting and
maintenance.
The platform delivers value through three core pillars:
Agentic Maintenance - Automates critical tasks such as tuning and patching, achieving a
30% reduction in management costs as of current release. Each action is observable and
reversible, ensuring operational autonomy without sacrificing control through activities like
database performance optimization, health checks and resiliency checks.
Agentic Healing - Continuously monitors usage patterns to detect anomalies early,
reducing the likelihood of SEV-1 incidents by 30% as of current release and ensuring
planned work takes priority over firefighting. Capabilities include anomaly detection &
resolution, locking issue resolution, query spilling resolution, and workload queueing
resolution.
Agentic Response - Explains what changed, why it matters, and how to address issues
when they arise, achieving a 30% reduction in time to resolution as of current release.
Every recommendation is auditable, helping build trust through performance problem
determination, what's changed analysis for incident management, conversational
telemetry, deep research with multi-step reasoning, incident summary reports, and log
analysis for advanced problem determination.
