When does eRRO.exe launch and appear on Task Monitor?

    Hi,

    I followed these steps, turned on eRRO, and restarted Windows Server.

    Then, I accessed Verify panel from a Custom Navigtor Application and clicked Submit from 3 different browsers.

    But I don't see eRRO.exe on the Task Monitor as explained in the Support page.

    What steps must I proceed for eRRO.exe to launch and appear on the Task Monitor?

    I used Chrome, FireFox, and Edge to access Navigator Verify panel and clicked Submit.

    I was expecting to see 3 eRRO.exe processes.

    Enable eRRO in Datacap

    Microsoft Windows (64-bit)
    1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Datacap\RRS
    2. In the right panel, right click "Use eRRO (REG_DWORD)"
    3. Click Modify. Change the "Value data" from 0 to 1.
    4. Click OK.

    "On above image we can see how 2 sessions are running validations and how each of them has it's own eRRO.exe process."

    On my system, it cause by Dstudio.   eRRO process is in window task manager if dStudio is started.  Not cause by IIS hosting wTM using datacap navigator.

    According to the Support site, eRRO is a supplementary function for TMWeb and Datacap Navigator.

    Do you know how eRRO can be launched for Datacap Navigator?

    I couldn't understand why eRRO launched for DStudio. I thought eRRO was launched for each user on TmWeb or Datacap Navigator as stated in the Support page.

    I will appreciate any clues.

    Hello Dsakai, 

    I know it helps with speed running verify using datacap navigator.  I think it has to do with running it out of process or some sort.   If you are not using datacap navigator doing verify task, you don't need to enable this.

    Thank you Duke. 

    Are you saying eRRO configuration may not work with a Custom Verification Application created with Node.js (JavaScript )?

    Is it only for TMWeb and ICN Navigator verification?

    The operators keep getting timeout error after clicking Verify button and it seems eRRO config was the solution.

    It it doesn't work with Node.js verification app, we will need to look for other solution.

    >If you are not using datacap navigator doing verify task, you don't need to enable this.

    Have you ever tuned IIS to solve timeout issues reported by operators?

    Like increasing the maximum number of IIS Worker process?

    Thanks to your advice, I was able to see eRRo.exe on the Task Monitor.
    However, why is eRRo.exe made when Datacap Studio is started?

    In IBM support site written about "Slowness on Datacap Web and Datacap Navigator while executing validation rules",there is the below message.

    Thanks to your advice, I was able to see eRRo.exe in window task manager.
    but it don't make sense that eRRo process is in window task manager only when Datacap Studio is started.
    Datacap Studio is the tools for Datacap application development and testing and not related to RRS nor wTM.

    It is hard to persuade my client.

    eRRO processor are spawned when rules are executed.  It run out of processor ie ... outside of wtm processor which help with performance.

    When you use datacap navigator or tmweb all the rule when it's executed are run in wtm processor or tmweb processor.   To help with performance, if you enable eRRO it will spawn new eRRO processing to run outside of wTM processor or tmweb.  You will see more than one eRRO processor if you have to execute different rule.

    @AIKO YANAGIYAMA I don't know what dstudio spawn a erro processing.  I don't recall changing my registry setting.

    What is wtm or tmweb processor? Is it IIS Workerprocess? 

    We have configured IIS to host wtm. 

    Am I correct that eRRO.exe is spawned when IIS Workerprocess runs wtm rules and in addition the workerprocess has probably run out of resource?

    I didn't see your last post nor realized you still have some questions.
    For timeout session, it's a loaded question.  I'll try to my best to answer.

    In IIS when you configure wTM and the app pool - there is a 20 min timeout setting.  You can extend the setting but it also have to adjust timeout on WAS also.

    If you have load balancer you have to adjust that ip timeout also.

    According to the Support team, eRRO.exe may only be launched when wTM API executes rules that are defined with Datacap Studio. For example validation rules. In our project, our custom Verify panel does not execute any validation rules defined with Datacap Studio. We only pass XML through wTM API. Thus, Support team and we concluded eRRO.exe will never get launched from our custom application. I hope such an important specification about eRRO.exe gets written on InfoCenter. The manual only suggests wTM session timeout may be solved by eRRO.exe. Support team told us to tune performance entries on Datacap Server registry values. We are now testing with increased number of concurrent IIS worker processes. If this doesn't work, we'll try this tuning suggestion to solve our session timeout issue.
