IBM recently bought cloud consultancies such as Nordcloud and Taos Mountain. Both are supporting multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and at least Nordcloud builds a lot using the cloud providers' native services. This is maybe a stupid question, but what does IBM get out of pushing companies to the hyperscalers' cloud platforms and increasingly into their native service offerings? Surely there is some consultancy revenue to be had, but I think it's peanuts for a company with the size of IBM. So is there some hidden agenda to transform Nordcloud and Taos Mountain into offering and working with IBM hybrid cloud tech?
