Hello everyone,

We have received nearly 15,000 EML files exported from multiple mail applications.

The goal is to import them into Microsoft Outlook while preserving folder hierarchy, message metadata, attachments, and read/unread status.

Outlook's drag-and-drop method is taking a lot of time and occasionally skips some emails.

Has anyone handled a migration of this size?

I'm interested in knowing which workflow worked reliably for you and whether there are any limitations I should be aware of.

Quick search on the web for bulk eml to pst, you probably have to use some 3rd party software if drag and drop is slow and unreliable.

For 15,000 EML files, I would avoid relying on Outlook drag-and-drop. 😁

A more reliable approach would be to process the files in controlled batches,  convert them to PST before importing, or use a dedicated migration tool and use Microsoft Graph or EWS for a scripted migration if metadata and folder structure must be preserved.

Last but not least, I would  validate the process first on a representative sample.

The main point to check is whether the selected solution preserves read/unread status, original dates, attachments and custom headers, as not all tools handle these consistently.
