We have a vCPU tiering model in Virtual Centre where the vCPU is allocated to a pool to allow for appropriate allocation of resources, eg Development generally sits at a 8:1 vCPU to pCPU ratio and Production at 4:1 with some high end virtual servers using 1:1. The rates for the various pools vary, as the compression decreases the cost increases. Has anyone done an allocation model similar to this? I am initially thinking that we bring in the 'Pool' attribute and use that as part of the allocation calculation but this may be over complicating it.
I'd be very interested to hear how others are doing this.
