  • 1.  Using custom dashboard - How to monitor DB2 Availability?

    Posted 02/08/26 09:25 PM

    Hi All,

We are tasked to configure Instana to monitor availability of DB2 service. Use case is to monitor DB2 availability by checking if process, service or port is alive. I plan to use custom dashboard to have GUI for end users. Is there a way to configure Instana to monitor DB2 process/es per monitored VM/LPAR and send an alert once these process/es are not running?

    Thank you in advance.

    B

The Instana agent detects new or stopped processes as 'changes', so if the db2sysc process started running it will cause an 'online' change, and if it's stopped it will cause an 'offline' change.
Likely you can incorporate an 'event' widget in your custom dashboard that will show these 'changes'...
