    Hello,

    I want to migrate my vios from version '3.1.4.31' to '4.1.0.00' but when executing the viosupgrade command from padmin, I get the following error

    Hi,

    Haven't seen that exact error on my migrations (+10 VIOSes migrated from 3.1.4.31 > 4.1.0.10 now)..

    Would you be able to share the exact cmd U R running + output of your  /var/adm/ras/ioslogs/viosupg_global.log ?

    For tests I don't use the -g option yet, the exact command is:

    viosupgrade -l -i /home/padmin/Update_V4/vios_full_mksysb_4100 -a hdisk1

    Yeah, it would be worth a shot...since at least this one:

    5765-VE4  Virtual_IO_Server_Base_Install_4.1.0.10_Flash_112023_LCD8292400.iso

    worked out-of-the-box for me as starter.

    When I got 1st 4.1 VIOS up & running from that Flash ISO; I created my own custom image and used that in later migrations, saved quite a lot of time for not-needing to do all same post config fixing on each VIOS separately

    afair it is a well known bug Jaqui Lynch talked about. You probably have viosbr backup scheduled in your VIOS. Unschedule it and repeat the operation.

    Make sure there are no NFS mounted filesystems and disable the automatic viosbr backup if you use it:

    $viosbr -nobackup

    If you don't unmount the NFS filesystems it will try to copy them during the upgrade. If you don't disable the viosbr backup, then you may see the following error:
