  • 1.  Unable to access EJB 3.0 method exposed on WAS9 cluster server via IIOP-RMI running Java 11 client

    Posted 11/10/20 03:40 PM

I am unable to access a EJB method that is exposed on a WAS9 cluster when consuming from a Java 11 client using IIOP-RMI. The same access works when running from a Java 8 client. Error i see is as follows

I understand that the com.ibm.ws.orb_9.0.jar from IBM does not support the modular design added in Java 9 , is there an orb jar by IBM that suppports. where can it be downloaded from?

To Add in the link below

    https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/techjournal/0807_pape/0807_pape.html

in section "WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment clustered instance" mentions about involvement of the location service daemon server contained in the NodeAgent. The ORB_LISTENER_ADDRESS of node agent ( WAS Admin console --> System Administrtaion -->Node agents --> ports) is not open in firewall. Need to check if this causes issues in JDK 11

The issue was with the ORB_LISTENER_ADDRESS of node agent being blocked. The port is opened on firewall and issue resolved
