    I took a look at a preview of IBM Bob Premium Pack for Z and now that PPZ and Bob v2.0 are generally available I think it's okay to mention this.

    I pointed Bob at a directory with some z/TPF Assembler Middleware programs and asked Bob in "Z Architect" agentic AI mode to document it, Bob asked for a number of other programs that the initial programs entered and then Bob really went to work documenting the package. As I'm sure is the case with many z/TPF shops, there were some user macros in these programs so we need to learn how to document these for Bob and incorporate them in the LLM.

    What makes Bob different? The surprising thing was how Bob got such a complete picture of what the code was doing and was able to document it. I then asked Bob in "Z Code" agentic AI mode to suggest any efficiency changes and Bob came up with some interesting suggestions for performance improvements. Finally I asked Bob in "Z Code" mode to implement the suggested changes in the code (this was my local copy) so I could share the results.

    For completeness I also had Bob look at some z/OS Assembler Middleware and Bob did a good job of documenting that too.

    Overall I am left with a good impression and anyone with HLASM code on IBM Z should take an interest.
