    Maybe due to the mainly blue front doors of the old systems (which I just confirmed via some Google search, TBH).
    but surely not due to the famous and official "IBM Cheese Cutter", which is on display at some IBM facility.

    No idea but I have always associated IBM with Blue.. Brain is represented by blue color. May be something to do with that ;)
