    The first 2026 release of IBM Modernized Runtime Extension for Java™ (MoRE) is now available as of today. This release delivers MoRE 1.0.2.0, with support for IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment (WAS ND) fix pack 9.0.5.27 and minimum Liberty version 25.0.0.12+.

    This release introduces security enhancements and Managed Liberty Servers (MLS) administration improvements while maintaining unified management of Java 8 and Java 17+ workloads in the existing WAS ND operational model, enabling modernization without disrupting operations.

    Release highlights include:

    • Support for AES‑256 password encryption
    • SAML 2.0 support through the Liberty feature samlWeb-2.0
    • Enhancements to MLS administration, including:
      • Ability to customize the application installation path
      • Support for multiple Liberty installations, with the ability to select the Liberty version from the Admin Console
