    Hello,

    I'm running the IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription Trial (Subscription ID: 515617555) and cannot activate it on my Intel-based Mac (macOS, x86_64 / Core i5).

    The problem: SPSS Statistics 32.0.0.0 installs and launches fine, but the "Log in with IBMid" activation never completes. After I sign in successfully in the browser, the page reaches spsssub.ibm.com/licsrv/callback and shows "Authentication successful," but clicking "Launch IBM SPSS Statistics" does nothing (in Safari it returns "the address is invalid").

    Root cause I've identified: the spssstats:// callback is handled by the bundled helper SysPassKeyDaemon.app, and in this v32 build that helper is compiled arm64-only (Apple Silicon), while the main application is x86_64. On an Intel Mac the helper cannot launch, so the login token is never returned and the product stays unlicensed (showlic reports "No licenses found"). There is no authorization-code option for the subscription trial, so the IBMid login is the only activation path - and it's impossible to complete on Intel hardware.

    My request: Could you provide a download link for SPSS Statistics version 30 for macOS, which supports Intel Macs, so I can activate it with my existing trial subscription? Alternatively, please advise on any fix pack or workaround that makes v32 activation work on an Intel Mac.

    My machine's Lock Code is 10-334B5 if a direct authorization is possible.

    Here is a fix which contains a SysPassKeyDaemon.app for Intel chipset:  32.0.0.0-IM-S32STATC-MAC-IF003

    Inside .zip file you will find an instruction how to apply a fix.

    Question: I am working through how to install (upgrade) to my laptop and desktop (MacOS X). My desktop is an intel, laptop is silicon. For the intel do I have to apply all the fixes (3 of them) and do them in sequence?

    The interim fix above 32.0.0.0-IM-S32STATC-MAC-IF003  is specific to the initial release (32.0.0.0_134) of IBM SPSS Statistics Digital.  It supplies an intel-specific instance of the 'SysPassKeyDaemon.app' login application used by Statistics Digital.

    EDIT:  The shipping release for IBM SPSS Statistics 32.0.0.0 (macOS) has been refreshed.  The latest installer is for build 139 (rather than build 134) and incorporates the Intel-specific instance of the 'SysPassKeyDaemon'... making 32.0.0.0-IM-S32STATC-MAC-IF003 unnecessary.


    IBM SPSS Statistics Digital uses your IBMid to login.  This is is where the 'SysPassKeyDaemon.app' comes into play.

    If instead you are using IBM SPSS Statistics 32.0.0.0 with Traditional On-prem licensing (using an authorization code or concurrent license manager locally), then this interim fix is irrelevant to your deployment and you needn't install it.

    Interim Fixes address specific issues. If a later fix affects a file present in a prior fix, then the newer file should be used as the fixes are cumulative.  As a general rule of thumb, don't apply an interim fix unless you are experiencing the specific issue addressed by that fix. The next product release (example: 32.0.0.0), modification release (example: 32.0.1.0), or fixpack (example: 32.0.1.1) includes prior interim fixes.
